A 75-year-old man was strolling along when, out of nowhere, he heard a voice:

“Stop! A brick is about to fall on your head!”

Startled, the man froze in his tracks, and sure enough, a brick crashed to the ground right in front of him.

He continued on his way, and a little later, the voice called out again:

“Stop! Don’t cross the road—there’s a speeding car coming your way!”

The man paused, waited, and watched as a car whizzed by. Once it was safe, he crossed the road and was unharmed.

Grateful, the man turned around and spoke aloud, “Thank you! Who are you?”

The voice replied, “I am your guardian angel, sent by God to keep you safe from danger.”

The man thought for a moment, then smiled and asked politely, “Well, where were you when I was about to get married?”
