One Friday night, Patrick went to his friend Paddy and said, “Paddy, I need a favor. Can you keep the bartender busy for an hour after closing?”
Paddy wasn’t thrilled about it, but since Patrick was a lifelong friend, he reluctantly agreed.
After the pub closed, Paddy struck up a conversation with the bartender, asking all sorts of random questions to keep him occupied. After a while, the bartender grew suspicious and asked, “Paddy, what’s really going on here?”
Feeling guilty, Paddy sighed and admitted, “I’m sorry… my friend Patrick asked me to keep you here because he’s at your house right now.”
The bartender chuckled, patted Paddy on the shoulder, and said, *“Mate, you might want to hurry home—my house has been empty for two years.”
