Two women, a blonde and a redhead, own a ranch. Unfortunately, they’ve just lost their bull.
With only $500 to spare, they need to buy a new one. The redhead says to the blonde, “I’ll head to the market and see if I can find one for less than $500. If I do, I’ll send you a telegram.”
At the market, the redhead finds a bull priced at $499. With just one dollar left, she heads to the telegraph office, only to learn that sending a telegram costs $1 per word.
Puzzled about how to relay the message for the blonde to bring the truck and trailer, she finally decides on a single word: “Comfortable.”
The telegraph operator, curious, asks, “How will she understand to come with the trailer from just that word?”
The redhead grins and explains, “She’s a blonde—she’ll read it slowly: ‘Come-for-ta-bull.’”
